Day One: Introducing BrightPath Design

I quit my job today, handed over my files, sent out some goodbyes, carried my stuff out to my car, and that was it. It’s a scary move, but it’s also exciting because of what this means and what I know is coming next. Let me tell you about it.

After 16 years working in higher education, I’ve decided to scratch an itch that’s been bugging me for a long time and make my side hustle my career. So, while today is my last day in higher education, tomorrow will be my first day running my own business – BrightPath Design LLC.

BrightPath Design is a full-service graphic design studio that offers everything from branding and web design to print design, video, and motion graphics. While I’ve been doing graphic design freelance for about 10 years, I’ve never felt more ready and sure to do it full-time. One of the things I’m most excited about with BrightPath is the opportunity to use the power of good design to shine a light on the great work certain organizations are doing for our communities.

That’s why a lot of my work so far has been in the non-profit sector. To celebrate the launch of BrightPath Design, I want to offer a free design package to a local non-profit or charity that you think does excellent work in or around my adopted hometown in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. So, I invite you to comment the name of an organization that you want to shine a light on and tell us a little bit about what they do. Let’s work together to support those who are making a positive impact in our community. We’ll reach out to the one that we think will best benefit from our services and make some magic happen.
